Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Japan Photochemistry Association (JPA) and the 30th Anniversary of the Asian and Oceanian Photochemistry Association (APA)
The Japan Photochemistry Association (JPA) will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2026. To commemorate this milestone, we are preparing a series of events to reflect on the Association's activities and the achievements of photochemistry research in Japan, while looking ahead to the next fifty years of further development.
Japanese photochemistry has also played a leading role in establishing the Asian and Oceanian Photochemistry Association (APA) and has contributed significantly to the advancement of photochemistry throughout Asia and Oceania.
In 2026, the Asian and Oceanian Photochemistry Conference (APC) reaches its 30th anniversary, and APC2026 will be held in Japan. Taking advantage of this special occasion, we are pleased to organize a Joint Commemorative Ceremony and Celebration Party in Kobe to celebrate both the 50th anniversary of JPA and the 30th anniversary of APA.
Furthermore, together with the annual domestic photochemistry meeting, the period from September 4 to 10, 2026, will be celebrated as "Photochemistry Week," with the aim of promoting photochemistry both in Japan and internationally.
